It seems that couples choosing to have a neutral colour theme for their wedding has rocketed over the last couple of years. It appears that brighter and bolder colours like hot pink, green, burgundy and orange have been pushed to the side for the time being in favour of colours like ivory, cream, taupe and nude. Its a perfect colour scheme that is natural and unfussy.

I would say that 70% of the orders we make are in either White, Cream or Ivory or Champagne at the moment so it can be nice to make orders in the few brighter colours that sneak through!

With the vintage style using lace, pearls and crystals being one of the strongest trends at the moment we are seeing the neutral tones in full force.

One of our most popular designs that is chosen in a neutral colour scheme is our Filigree design. With its double layered satin ribbon and large pearl and diamante embellishment it looks stunning when teamed with ivory or cream ribbon. I really do think that we have probably made each and every one of our designs in a neutral colour scheme at some point.

Using whites, creams and ivorys is like having a blank canvas that it goes with all styles, so you can add a bit of sparkle to the day using sequins and glitter or using more subtle accents like pearls or metallics.

We can always tell what is going to be a popular colour for the coming wedding season by the end of February which is when we are inundated with samples from customers getting married in spring or summer that year. We send all samples out in your chosen colour so it gives us a good indication about what the trends will be for that year.  Neutrals have been very popular for the last few years, but we are seeing new shades being introduced like Nude, Blush and Beige rather than only white, cream or ivory.

In 2013 we saw a shift from traditional and classic styles with bows to a bit of glamour being incorporated with diamantes, crystals, metallics and sequins which brought a whole new dimension to this theme. We have seen a huge increase in samples being ordered with a blush colour and glitter or sequins together which look stunning.
