There is a different between escort cards and place cards. Place cards let your guests know which seat is their's at the table and
escort cards tell your guests which table they are seated at. Escort cards are commonly used for large weddings where it can take a while for each guest to view a table plan.
A place card will just have a guest name on it at the seat of the table, but an escort card will have the guest name and the table that they are seated at. Escort cards are often a flat card in a personalised envelope, but are also available as a tent style and are placed outside the reception room ready for the guest to collect. They are often sorted alphabetically so they are found easily.
If you are having a smaller wedding and like the idea of escort cards thenyou could have them as a tag and hang them from a wishing tree.
It is lovely to follow the theme of the day on the escort cards, but the priority is to ensure they serve the purpose and are easily set up for your guests to find.
